Final Fantasy XIV Timeline

Note: CONTAINS MSQ SPOILERS! Referencing to the FF wiki timeline and the FFXIV wiki timeline. Only information relevant to my characters and their plotlines is shown, such as information they would have been educated about, or that have come to learn, or events for which my characters' stories are consequential. Basically, this is where I come to check before my characters spit facts about their lives, their country, their history, etc.

The Myth of Creation

"In the beginning there was neither light nor darkness. Only the Whorl. And it was not until Althyk emerged thence in his nakedness, did time take its first step forward. With Him, the Keeper also carried weight, and with weight were the realms of land and firmament defined.Yet Althyk would not be alone overlong, for soon from the Whorl did another step forth. Her name was Nymeia, and She was but a mewling babe who could do naught but weep, and soon Her tears had created a vast lake. Althyk, seeking companionship in the empty realm of His creation, took the younger goddess under His wing and cared for Her as one would a daughter. As Nymeia grew, however, so too, did their love for one another, until it could no longer be contained, culminating in a divine coupling which resulted in the birth of two holy daughters- Azeyma, the sun, and Menphina, the moon-and with their advent, was day and night conceived.So did countless cycles of light and darkness pass before from the Whorl, once again, did another step forth. Thaliak, bearer of wisdom and knowledge, looked upon the silent and unchanging lake left by Nymeia's tears and coaxed from it a river to carry that water to the far corners of the realm. Azyema, drawn to Thaliak's sagacity, professed Her love to the new deity and begot Him two daughters-the first being Llymlaen, who took the water created by her grandmother and expanded it into the world's seas. The second daughter was lonely Nophica, who, wanting for companionship, created Her own playmates, and thus brought life into the world.It was not until life had spread throughout the land and newly created seas that a new god appeared, though whence the others did not know, for the Whorl lay dormant. His name was Oschon, and where He wandered did towering mountains rise from level plains. With the formation of these spires did cold wind flow from on high down to the warm seas and back up again, carrying life that was once reserved for land and water into the skies.Those winds did bring love into the heart of Llymlaen, yet though she longed to be with Oschon, His wanderlust prevented the two from ever being joined overlong, and lo did they never beget children of their own. This was a time of great creation, but great chaos. Oschon's mountains rose and fell at His whims, Thaliak's rivers flowed hither and thither, and Llymlaen's seas ever expanded, swallowing entire swathes of land before the gods even knew they were gone. To bring order to this chaos, Nymeia pried forth a mighty comet from the heavens and gave it life, directing it down into the world that it may destroy the excess Her sons and daughters had wrought, while bringing harmony once again to the realm.And for many days and nights was the world calm, the gods content in the order which now reigned supreme. That is until the Whorl woke from its slumber and beckoned forth two final deities- Byregot and His younger sister Halone. It was feared that the untamed and ambitious siblings might once again usher chaos unto the world, so to see that they were properly disciplined, Nymeia quickly made them wards of Rhalgr, the Destroyer.A builder by nature, Byregot resented His new stepfather who could teach him only of destruction, choosing instead to spend most of His time in the tutelage of Thaliak. The Scholar bestowed upon His eager student the knowledge He would use to forge the tools and techniques of creation. Though more open to Her new father's teachings, Halone too, grew restless, longing to test Her strength. An opportunity arose when Oschon invited the young goddess on one of His journeys. It was during these travels that Halone's ambition slowly transformed into a lust for battle. Whilst on the road, she would challenge every creature She met, honing Her skills and methodically devising new techniques for killing.When Nophica, mother of life, learned of Halone's wanton destruction of Her creations, she was angered beyond words and swore revenge, but the Fury ignored the Matron's challenges, widening the rift between the two. Oschon, feeling responsible for this rift, devised a plan to calm Nophica. From within the mountains of His creation, Oschon summoned a fount of magma which spewed forth onto the land. Upon cooling, the magma took form of the Twelfth and final god-the dual aspected Nald'thal. With Nald'thal, Oschon had provided a god to oversee the souls of those who met their deaths and provide them with peace in the afterlife. Satisfied that Her creations would no longer wander the void aimlessly, Nophica agreed to a truce with Halone.And with the advent of the Twelfth and final god was the pantheon complete. But before they could call an end to Their toil, They first required a realm in which They could reside and watch over Their myriad creation. To this end, they created the Seven Heavens, and to there did They finally retreat, bequeathing rule of Eorzea to mankind."

First Umbral Era

  • Calamity of Wind. Hurricanes and strong winds ravage the land.

  • Emergence of the first brood and the dragon race.

  • Emergence of the moogle race.

  • Considered the beginning of modern history.

First Astral Era (Age of Man)

  • Discovery of fire and stone tools, allowing civilization to abandon hunter-gatherer lifestyle.

  • Basic science, metallurgy, animal husbandry and agriculture are discovered.

  • People gather in villages and kingdoms.

  • Ends as the development of tools is abandoned in favor of forging weapons, causing the era to descend into bloodstained madness.

  • As they gut mountains to forge weapons of war, the despoiled land reacts and the Second Umbral Calamity—the Calamity of Lightning—begins.

Second Umbral Era

  • Calamity of Lightning. A volcanic eruption gives birth to a massive thunderstorm that razes the land.

  • People flee to caves where they die of pestilence and plague.

  • Hyuran prayers bring the earliest form of magic.

Second Astral Era (Age of Prayer)

  • Rise of goldsmiths and painters to decorate temples and worship the Gods.

  • Stonemasonry sees a rapid advance and the riddle of steel is solved.

  • Theocracies rule over kingdoms.

  • Beginning of holy wars among different religions.

  • With fields left unattended, those who do not march to war are left to starve.

Third Umbral Era

  • Calamity of Fire. The sun grows larger, burning fields and forests.

  • Famine spreads as holy wars dwindle to an end.

  • People stop relying on the Gods and focus on self-growth to survive.

5000-6000 YA

Third Astral Era (Age of Allag)

  • Rise of the Allagan Empire, said to have reached the pinnacle of science and technology under Emperor Xande.

  • Earliest historical records of summoning magic in Meracydia, in its war against the Allagan invasion.

  • Last historical records of Bahamut, Tiamat, and Azdaja of the first brood.

  • The Allagan Empire successfully conquers the Three Great Continents.

  • The ancestors of the Miqo'te race are driven from the realm to the far reaches of Ilsabard.

  • Earliest historical records of the red moon, Dalamud.

ca.4700 YA

Fourth Umbral Era

  • Calamity of Earth. The Allagan Empire's civilization disappears into a massive earthquake, and its technology and knowledge become lost to time.

Fourth Astral Era (The Forgotten Age)

  • Religion takes over again as technology and the pursuit of knowledge are condemned.

  • Books and places of learning are burnt down and their protectors slain.

  • The church controls what knowledge is passed down to the people by introducing a new alphabet, known as the modern eorzean script used to this day.

  • The existence of the Allag is gradually erased and forgotten.

ca.3200 YA

Fifth Umbral Era (Age of Endless Frost)

  • Calamity of Ice. A period of severe glaciation known as the Age of Endless Frost.

  • The ancestors of modern Miqo'te, descendants of Allagan slaves, return to Eorzea through the frozen Bloodbrine Sea.

  • According to passed down oral teachings, the Vahn family of Keepers of the Moon and their legend of the Queen of Tides originate from this era.

  • The 26 Seeker of the Sun tribes earn their modern names with the adoption of the new Eorzean alphabet.

ca.3000 YA

Fifth Astral Era (Age of Magic)

  • Through prayer and devotion to the Twelve do the survivors of the Age of Endless Frost discover magic and with it survive until the ice recedes.

  • The Sanctum of the Twelve is built in the Black Shroud.

ca.2800 YA

  • Rise of the city-state of Amdapor in Aldenard.

  • Twelve cities each adopt a different patron deity, unfortunately paving the way for greater divergences in culture and beliefs between them.

  • Territorial disputes between the city-states begin.

ca.2600 YA

  • Lalafell from Aloalo Island migrate to Vylbrand to establish the city-state of Nym.

  • The city-state of Mhach is settled in Yafaem.

ca.2200 YA

  • Development of black magic in Mhach.

  • Development of white magic in Amdapor.

ca.2100 YA

  • Eorzea’s city-states now only number six; of these only Mhach, Amdapor, Nym, and Skalla are known.

The War of the Magi - 1800 YA (ca. Year 1250)

  • Centuries worth of political tension boils over and the War of the Magi erupts across Eorzea.

  • Mhach summons many entities from the Void in order to further its ambitions.

  • Skalla eventually falls to the might of Mhach.

  • Nym, despite its size, succeeds in repelling Mhach and Amdapor’s forces. Rise of the Scholar and development of Arcanima magic.

1500 YA (ca. Year 1510)

  • The Green Death plague decimates Nym from within.

  • The War of the Magi exacts a devastating toll on the world’s aether, causing a severe imbalance in the planet’s elemental aspect.

  • Twelve Archons warn of the coming Calamity and urge the three remaining nations to set aside their differences.

  • The original Grand Companies are founded, and together they work to evacuate as many survivors as possible.

Sixth Umbral Era

  • Calamity of Water. Due to the War of the Magi, a Great Flood by the Elementals wipes Eorzea clean, lasting 60 days. Its City-States are erased from the map leaving nothing but ruins behind.

  • Black and White Magic become forbidden.

Sixth Astral Era

Age of Restoration Begins - Early Centuries

  • Sharlayan is established in the Old World.

  • Beginning of the Age of Blood in Hingashi.

  • The Forum is instituted in Sharlayan.

  • Rise of the Samurai.

  • Creation of Astromancy in Sharlayan.

ca. Year 350-370

  • First Hyur migration from northern Ilsabard to Eorzea.

Age of Communion Begins - Year 432

  • Sharlayan names its first "Archons". The Studium is formed.

Year 545

  • [Fabricated Knowledge] Foundation of Ishgard. According to Ishgardian holy scripture, 545 marks the year when King Thordan is visited by the goddess Halone, who beseeches him to guide his people to the Promised Land of Coerthas. As the legend is told, the great wyrm Nidhogg attacks the caravans on their journey, and King Thordan and half of his men are slain before the dragon is valiantly driven away. The remaining knights, including the king's son, Haldrath, guide the Elezen survivors to their destination.

ca. Year 550

  • Foundation of the Holy See of Ishgard by the heads of the four High Houses, the survivors of Thordan's expedition.

  • Institution of the Ishgardian Orthodox Church.

  • The Dragonsong War begins in the Northlands.

  • Rise of Dragoon.

  • Haldrath becomes the first Azure Dragoon.

ca. Year 563 to 750

  • ca. Year 563 - Completion of the Saint Thordan's Basilica in Ishgard.

  • Year 598 - Development of aetheryte travel in Sharlayan.

  • ca. Year 600 - The Mitsurugi Bakufu unifies Hingashi. End of the Age of Blood.

  • Rise of the Ninja.

  • ca. Year 660 - Second Hyur migration from northern Ilsabard to Eorzea.

  • Year 737 - Foundation of the kingdom of Belah'dia in Thanalan.

  • (ca. Year 740 - Foundation of Gelmorra) The Hyuran and Elezen driven underground by the elementals build the subterranean city of Gelmorra.

ca. Year 750 to 1000

  • ca. Year 750 - Third and final great Hyur migratory wave into Eorzea.

  • Year 761 - Recorded battle between Nidhogg and the Azure Dragoon Valeroyant.

  • ca. Year 777 - Foundation of the kingdom of Doma.

  • Year 787 - The Azure Dragoon Valeroyant falls in battle.

  • Year 817 - Valeroyant is canonized as a Halonic Saint by the Holy See.

  • (Year 875 - Foundation of Limsa Lominsa) Aboard the ship Galadion, Sea Wolves Roegadyn refugees run aground on the southern coast of Vylbrand, settling on the island, where they found the maritime city of Limsa Lominsa.

  • First Admiral Elilwaen leads the Lominsan militia in skirmishes against the local Kobolds.

  • Year 902-904 - Tragghyr the Cold succeeds Elilwaen as Admiral. Establishment of the Knights of the Barracuda navy and its land forces, the Yellowjackets.

  • Year 905 - Establishment of Camp Skull Valley in Western La Noscea.

  • Year 908 - Establishment of Moraby Drydocks in Lower La Noscea.

  • ca. Year 910 - The result of large-scale logging and shipbuilding is a boom in piracy.

  • Year 912 - Captain Maetistym the Lithe, of Limsa Lominsa, mistakenly believes that he has discovered a sea route to the nation of Hingashi. He names this piece of land "Cape Mete".

  • (Year 922 - Foundation of Garlemald) The "Seven Tribes" of Garleans come together and establish the Republic of Garlemald in the northern reaches of Ilsabard.

  • Year 930-937 - Garlemald begins to struggle against raids by the Hyuran nomads and the Hellsguard Roegadyn battle mages of the mountain clans.

  • Year 963 - The incumbent Admiral of Limsa Lominsa is assassinated, and reformed buccaneer Agatzahr Roehmerlsyn is appointed to serve in his stead.

  • Year 964 - Civil war breaks out in Belah'dia.

  • Year 966 - Admiral Agatzahr establishes a code of conduct, ending two decades of bloody conflict.

  • Year 967 - Agatzahr establishes the Upright Thieves as back-alley enforcers of the code and institutes a tariff on looted goods.

  • Year 968 - Rise of the first "dark knight" in Ishgard.

  • (Year 969 - Foundation of Ul'dah / Fall of Belah'dia) Belah'dia is divided and two kingdoms emerge: Sil'dih under Sasawefu and Ul'dah under Sasagan.

  • The Sultansworn are formed in Ul'dah. Rise of the Paladin.

  • The Order of Nald'thal is established in Ul'dah.

  • ca. Year 970 - End of the prolonged territorial conflict between Limsa Lominsa and the Kobolds.

  • ca. Year 980 - Sea trade flourishes, and Limsa Lominsa experiences an influx of Plainsfolk Lalafell, Hyur Midlanders, and Miqo'te Seekers of the Sun.

  • Year 986 - The "ilm" is invented as a measure unit in Limsa Lominsa.

  • Year 992 - The first Trident is held in Limsa Lominsa.

Age of Strife Begins - ca. Year 1000 to 1100

  • ca. Year 1000 - Ul'dah first enlists the aid of Roegadyn and Highlander sellswords in their continuing war against Sil'dih.

  • ca. Year 1020 - The Ixal incur the wrath of the elementals and are cast out of the Black Shroud. The tribes migrate to Xelphatol.

  • ca. Year 1030 - Coinach, a young Order of Nald'thal seminarian from Ul'dah, finds proof of Allag's existence in Mor Dhona.

  • ca. Year 1050 - Tensions with the Sahagin in the Indigo Deep rise.

  • Year 1058 - Formation of the floating isle known as the Dreaming Dragon in Coerthas.

  • Year 1062 - Mealvaan's Gate is established to inspect and tax maritime traffic. Rise of the arcanist.

  • Year 1076 - The conjurer Jorin successfully communes with the elementals, and the citizens of Gelmorra are permitted to live in the Black Shroud.

  • (Year 1077 - Foundation of Gridania) Gelmorrans begin construction of the forest city of Gridania. The hamlet of Quarrymill is founded.

  • ca. Year 1080 - The bard tradition emerges. A precursor to the Botanists' Guild is founded.

  • Year 1081 - The first Padjal child is born, he would in time take the name of I-Ohok Pota.

ca. Year 1100 to 1200

  • ca. Year 1100 - The Coliseum is built in Ul'dah. Rise of the Gladiator.

  • Year 1178 - Ul'dah invades Sil'dih, taking advantage of its civil unrest in a period of drought.

Monoco is an older gestral that joins to help out Expedition 33. He fights by transforming into Nevrons after harvesting their feet.Monoco is a Gestral, a group of friendly beings who enjoy the thrill of battle and view competition as a form of meditation.
As one of the few Gestrals who speak the human language, Monoco has adopted a scholarly demeanour which belies a bloodthirsty spirit.
Though Gestrals are untouched by the Paintress, the prospect of combat entices Monoco to join the Expedition.

Monoco, alongside the other Gestrals within the Canvas, was created by the real-world Verso Dessendre to play with when he was a child. Verso named him after Monoco the Third, one of the Dessendre family's dogs. Designated a Searcher, he was instructed to find Lost Gestrals that got scattered over the Continent as a result of the Fracture.Noco protected Monoco in the aftermath of the Fracture and took him in as a protegé. Thus began a long-term bond between the two, and each time Noco died and reincarnated, Monoco took on the role of the mentor.Monoco also formed a close bond with Verso, who taught him the human language. The two embarked on countless adventures over the years, sometimes in the company of Expeditioners. Verso's insistence that they head for Old Lumière and destroy The Paintress' heart in order to disable the barrier protecting her—which inevitably ended in disaster for the Expeditions—appeared to have caused a minor rift between the two.Sometime around Monolith Year 43, Monoco defied the Gestral chief, Golgra, earning her ire and thus took to living far outside the Gestral Village.

The Warrior of Light was created by Cid of the Lufaine during the war between Cosmos and Chaos in World B. Cid wished to experiment on manikins to see if one could be imbued with sentience by infusing it with his own memories. After several failed attempts, he succeeded; the manikin he created did not have its body crystalize like the others, but he saw no will in its eyes and attributed this to an incomplete memory infusion. To see how his creation fared, Cid placed it in World B for the summoned warriors to find.The Warrior was found by Prishe and Garland, the latter of whom recognized the warrior. The two fought over him. Prishe prevailed and took the Warrior to Cosmos, who anointed him as one of her champions. Over several cycles of battle, the Warrior developed his own will and personality and became a stalwart defender of Cosmos.When Cosmos and Chaos were destroyed, Cosmos' champions appeared in a field outside of Cornelia in World A. While nine of them soon faded away to return to their own worlds, the Warrior remained and set off to Castle Cornelia in the distance, soon joining three other heroes that would be known as the "Warriors of Light".

Nanaki is an honorable, courageous warrior with an inquisitive and knowledgeable mind. He is polite, soft-spoken, and calm, mostly remaining composed, if at times pessimistic without veering into outright bitterness. He's also very inquisitive, listening attentively and curiously to stories and having great knowledge of planetology. At times, Nanaki acts out with sarcastic comments.He's still maturing and grappling with anxiety, which he aspires to outgrow. Nanaki speaks often about his desires for adulthood, which he initially imagines to mean becoming a warrior who protects Cosmo Canyon and who is unafraid. This very desire led to his capture, as him stepping up to prove himself to Deneh caused the Turks to capture him, but also led to him resenting his father, who he believed had cowardly neglected his duties. Learning otherwise greatly affected Nanaki and led him to see his greater duties to protect the planet.Nanaki initially had dislike and distrust for humans (outside of his peers from Cosmo Canyon), perhaps, due to Hojo's experiments, but his maturity, as well his time with Cloud and his friends, softened his stance. He also shows extreme disdain when treated as a pet or a simple dog by strangers.

Sephiroth was raised and trained under Hojo's tutelage, where he learned that a good SOLDIER needs to be strong in body, mind, and heart and that a hardened heart, ruthless and devoid of hesitation, is a sign of strength. In order to achieve this, Hojo subjected Sephiroth to immense physical pain and instructed the boy to endure the pain to unlock his true strength.In his youth, Sephiroth was more open to interactions with others and more emotionally vulnerable. His obsession with Jenova stems from years of conditioning and brainwashing from the alien using the guise of his real mother's identity, further exacerbated by the one photo he had of Lucrecia, being told that her name was Jenova.As a SOLDIER before his madness, Sephiroth was cool, calm, well-spoken, and graceful, maintaining a professional demeanor. He is knowledgeable, especially on the subject of materia. In his youth, Sephiroth struggled with the expectations placed on him, not wanting to be a hero, though the help of comrades taught him not to constantly push himself to his breaking point and to ease up. Sephiroth's warmer side is also seen with his close friends, caring for them and protecting them by opting to fail to defeat them on purpose. This extended beyond his SOLDIER comrades, but had its limits.

Cyno is a curt, stoic and generally emotionless young man with a ruthlessness and vicious approach to his duty as a matra that make him intimidating and unapproachable. He cares little for niceties or social gatherings and is known throughout Sumeru for his ruthless efficiency at upholding the law.Despite his young age, Cyno holds the position of General Mahamatra in the Akademiya and takes his position seriously. Cyno is extremely dedicated to upholding the Akademiya's rules and punishing any transgressions, to such an extent that even the sages of the Akademiya (ostensibly his superiors) are wary of him.

Notoriously, Cyno will relentlessly pursue any individuals that try to flee his judgment, even across the desert — a trait that, in combination with his prowess as a hunter and warrior, makes escaping from Cyno nigh impossible. Due to this, Cyno's name is infamous within Sumeru and many scholars fear the prospect of ever meeting him, despite the fact that he only handles cases of significant interest.Cyno idolizes "justice" above all, but views his role as that of a protector, preventing seekers of knowledge from being led astray and becoming dangers to both themselves and the world.Despite his seriousness in academics and work-related matters, Cyno is fairly relaxed outside of Akademiya duties, being an avid fan of Genius Invokation TCG. Despite his intentions to put people at ease, he maintains his emotionless, harsh attitude in most situations, even outside of work. Dvalin is an Anemo elemental dragon and the former Dragon of the East. For a millennium, he had defended Mondstadt with his own might. With full command over sky and wind, Dvalin is an immensely powerful being capable of destroying the venomous clouds of the Black Dragon Durin with his whirlwinds, of which not even the Thousand Winds could resist nor achieve.

Dvalin was born from a convergence of elemental energy in the high heavens. This young dragon was very curious and descended to the continent of Teyvat to observe the world around him. As an enormous and powerful dragon, his presence frequently but unintentionally caused havoc and destruction around him, resulting in fearful or spiteful reactions from humans.One day, attracted by the music from Barbatos, Dvalin decided to stay by his side and befriended him. He learned human speech and the Archon's singing techniques.Approximately five hundred years ago, Dvalin prevailed against Durin, the dragon from the abyss, tearing open its throat at the cost of ingesting its poisonous blood. Dvalin protected Mondstadt with his life, and his only wish was to be understood by humans. He then fell into a slumber.

Roy Mustang, also known as the Flame Alchemist, is a State Alchemist and officer in the Amestrian State Military. A hero of the Ishval Civil War and Edward Elric’s superior officer, Colonel Mustang is a remarkably capable commander who plans to become the next Führer of Amestris.

Roy is perceived as a shallow, self-absorbed, and a womanizer. The latter has effectively increased his unpopularity among the enlisted men. Easily as arrogant as his young protégé, Edward, Colonel Mustang is one to act in an ostentatious manner and appears to act mostly out of self-interest rather than any sort of philanthropy. Sesshōmaru is a very powerful inu daiyōkai, feared throughout the Feudal Era. He is the older half-brother of the hanyō Inuyasha and the firstborn son of Tōga.Unlike many other yōkai, Sesshōmaru had no interest in possessing even a single shard of the Shikon Jewel to enhance his powers and considered yōkai who sought its abilities only to strengthen themselves as pathetic and weak.

Sesshōmaru, born of a great yōkai bloodline, possessed the perfect power that many yōkai desired, displaying a calm, calculating personality at almost all times. The only trait he inherited from his father was fondness towards humans, which didn't manifest until later on in his life. Saruhiko Fushimi is a clansman of Scepter 4, a former member of HOMRA and Jungle and a childhood friend of Misaki Yata who has known him ever since their middle school days together.

Fushimi often displays himself as a cool-headed, lazy and bored individual. He is described as being rather depressing, showing dislike of many things with little interest in activities that he does enjoy, or even his own future. He is a pessimist, believing that "heroes" do not exist; rather, he believes that surviving in the world would only come from an individual's own power.He is quite intelligent, being able to solve complex mathematical problems within moments. He appears to enjoy playing video games and shows a prominent distaste for vegetables or other compliments to his food's side dishes.Fushimi can often be far more twisted than he leads others to believe. He can be cruel, bloodthirsty, and occasionally sadistic. However, this is only really the case when facing Yata. He does so in order to reflect his deceased father, copying a few of his mannerisms to make Yata hate him. Reisi Munakata is the Fourth and Blue King and the Captain of Scepter 4.Munakata is a sophisticated, observant and composed individual who is cautious in the battlefield. Although he is willing to use physical action in a fight, Munakata does attempt to win with victory through negotiation instead.

He is a natural leader and generally puts the concern of innocent lives, and those of his men over his own. He is also shown to be a strong willed, stubborn man who prefers to face his problems head on with his eyes open, and despises people who run away from them.Munakata rarely loses his temper, often handling impossible situations in a calm, reasonable manner, but he is shown to be quite frightening when angered. He seems to have a very punctilious side, taking a keen interest in anyone who measures up to his standards.He likes to socialize with his colleagues which leads to his coworkers to be afraid of him. He is often a quiet person and tranquil in nature, but when a situation calls for it, he tends to be quite talkative and rhetorical, which may often appear as mean and haughty. His verbal eloquence is a poignant trait of his character, and while seemingly cold and calculative most of the time, he relaxes around those he trusts.

Tatara Totsuka was one of the first members of the Red Clan, HOMRA. He was a pacifist and was considered to be the weakest of all of his Clansmen. One night, he was shot and killed by the Colorless King, which eventually resulted in HOMRA's manhunt for his murderer. Unaware to him, his death was staged by Nagare Hisui as part of "his game". Which makes Nagare the one responsible for Tatara's death.

Totsuka had a calm, laid-back and very friendly personality. He was very optimistic, even as a young child. Totsuka often engaged in conversations with people, including strangers, showing that he was also charismatic. However he was also known for being 'cold-hearted' in his childhood, and rarely showed emotions of distress for others or himself. As a kid, Totsuka had never really had any real attachment to anyone or anything, but that changed after he met Suoh.Totsuka had a number of hobbies, such as cooking or bonsai, always thinking of new things to try out. He also had a particular skill for singing and playing the guitar. His favorite activity, which he had a habit of doing all the time, was recording daily videos or taking snapshots almost everywhere he went; he had stated that he liked to do it during important events.

After experiencing Naruto Uzumaki's refusal to be limited by such an ideology, Neji realised his fate was what he chose it to be, and as a member of Team Guy he sought the strength necessary to make the future he wanted for his family and friends.

As a child, Neji was kind and prone to smiling. He lost these qualities after his father's death, growing serious and cold, more mature than most his age. For years he was driven by a fatalistic belief that his and everyone else's fates were determined from birth and were inescapable, causing him to arrogantly place himself above those he believes were "weaker" than himself. He also perceived that his talents would always be handicapped by mandatory servitude to the Hyūga's main house, which he resented.Neji shared his philosophy about fate with those he met, but he was forced to reevaluate when Naruto, a "failure", defeats him, a "genius", in a fight.From his experience with Naruto, Neji came to view fate as not something inescapable. The destiny Neji ended up selecting for himself was to become strong enough to never lose again. Over time his desire to get stronger became as much a motivation to never lose as it is to protect his friends and family. Hazel Grouse is an exorcist from across the sea and was very prejudiced towards youkai, seeking to eradicate them completely.He has a special revival technique through which he can replace souls. He uses the souls of the youkai he’s defeated to revive those humans who died by youkai-inflicted wounds. He supplements this ability with an amulet, which is capable of storing souls. Through this, he can store souls of youkai defeated.

At first glance, Hazel seems to be a refined, respectful man but he is rather egotistical and snide. He thinks himself an intellectual, and while he is sharp, his arrogance feeds his ignorance. This makes him someone who is very easily manipulated, though he too can be manipulative, especially towards hopeful villagers dealing with the Minus Wave.Hazel is a very single-minded individual. Due to this past experiences with youkai--simply called monsters where he comes from--he is very prejudiced against them and has a hard time believing that youkai and humans ever once co-existed in Shangri La. Once a proud warrior of the Dotharl tribe, Dayan’s troubles began when an unexplainable curse awakened inside him, forcing him to relive memories of anyone he killed in battle. This made fighting his opponents increasingly difficult, and as his prowess on the battlefield decreased, so did his standing in the tribe.

This tension culminated when food scarcity pushed the Dotharl to their limits, threatening those deemed as weak with exile. This included Dayan’s daughter, mutilated and incapable of pulling her own weight as a Dotharl warrior. Dayan turned against his own tribesmen, killing one among them. In a final act of mercy, the Khan secretly spared Dayan and his child from execution, instead casting them out of the tribe, to leave the Steppe forever.After wandering for a time, Dayan and his daughter settled in Dravania, where they lived off of hunting for a while. When the young girl became enthralled by the Gnath primal, Ravana, Dayan became enraged. Nearly throwing his life away in a desperate one-man raid against the beastmen, it was only thanks to the help of a dragon he had previously met that he was rescued and transported to the Churning Mists. Marekh was only 3 summers old when he lost his older brother, annihilated by the madness of the King of Ruin. Fearing persecution, Marekh’s family fled to seek refuge in Gridania.

After a brief period of asylum, they were driven away once more, when news of Ala Mhigo’s occupation by the Garlean Empire struck the citizens of Gridania with fear of a new war. Marekh, then 8, headed for Ul’dah with his parents next, only to be quickly turned away and forced to take shelter in the hostile wastelands of Thanalan. It was in this harsh and unwelcome environment that Marekh grew up and was tempered into the strong man he is today. Unexpectedly surviving the Calamity, he has regrouped with other Ala Mhigan refugees in Little Ala Mhigo, working as a sellsword on a good day, and a thug on the bad ones. Clive was born as Clivus Gravis, son to an Ala Mhigan and a Garlean primus. After serving the Legion as an Eques for a few years, Clivus was still a teenager when he was signed up to a secret project and subjected to a series of experiments from the imperial medici.

Before Clivus could even begin to understand the true nature of these tests, and the strange effects they had on his mind and body, the project was abruptly shutdown by the rapid descent of Dalamud, the red moon. In a state of confusion, the young man was forced inside a suit of magitek armor and ejected from the facility, just narrowly escaping the destructive Seventh Umbral Calamity and crashing in Coerthas.Waking up in a cold blizzard and with the sole company of an unconscious Vieran woman, Clivus slowly recovered under the care of Ishgard’s surgeons before attempting to make his way back home.
